Shayla’s New Bedroom – Abstract Accent Wall

1850 Views

Guess what, guys? Shayla’s getting a new room!

So our home is currently a 3 bedroom, 2 bath. However, when we bought our house, we always knew we would eventually turn our formal dining room into a 4th bedroom. Well…what better time than after getting pregnant right? LOL. I think I might have set myself up for more work than I initially thought but here we go…

So, this is what our formal dining room used to look like.

We actually already have a nook in our kitchen so we used it as a computer room. Once we found out I was pregnant, we knew we had to get a move on the room and fast! Thank goodness one of our best friends, Mikey, who works in construction because this would never have been possible without him. He helped us put up the walls and basically create this entire room. The kids were even able to write on the inside of the walls so it was a pretty cool experience for them.

Once all of the walls were put up and fixed, it was time to paint! We went thru countless Pinterest ideas and Shayla fell in love with this abstract wall! I have to be honest…I really did not think I could pull this off. It just looked like so much work (and it was!). But I have a huge problem saying “no” and Shayla really wanted this accent wall, so we attempted it and it actually came out pretty good!

And drum roll please…..here is the finished wall!

After this picture was taken, it took me 7 hours to go in-between all those white lines and perfect it all. Our walls were textured so the colors bled thru a bit, but it was all soooo worth it!

What do you guys think? Let me know down in the comments!
