So, here we go again with another life update…

Hey yall! Not gonna lie, I pretty much dropped the ball on this Y Tribe thing LOL. But I recently decided that I want to start using this space again as some sort of time capsule for myself and my family, and maybe even my generations to come.

Growing up, my mom had tons of photo albums and every once in awhile, we sift through them as a family, getting to enjoy photos and remembering memories we had with loved ones who are no longer here.

People these days don’t have photo albums anymore! Myself included. Isn’t that sad? So as I started thinking about that lately…I realized, hey – why don’t I use this platform as my own version of a photo album??? It can serve as a way for my kids to know where they come from years down the road. A space they can see their memories and enjoy everything we experience all in one space. And if you enjoy seeing our content too, and it inspires you to do something similar, then I’m glad you’re here!

So here I am starting over again. I’ll start with a few updates:

Shayla is now 14, Ryder 10 and Sage is the big 3! How time flies. Sage started Pre-School last August and it’s the cutest thing because she’s the teachers favorite. Shayla will be starting High School next year, and Ryder Middle School…isn’t that nuts!

Since I last posted on here, we lost my sweet 14-yr old Chica to cancer in October 2021. But in February 2022, we welcomed our sweet little Aiko to the family. His story is WILD. I truly believe Chica sent him to us. He came from a Chihuahua breeder in Arkansas. His posting just happened to pop up on my phone, and his mom’s name was CHICA – and can you guess what the breeder’s name was??? SHAYNA!! I didn’t care how much he cost (which was A LOT considering I had to pay for his flight, way more than I told myself I would ever spend for a dog), I was willing to spend whatever it took because I knew he was guided to me for a reason. Aiko is the sweetest little chubby Chihuahua in the world who loves cuddles and I’m so happy to have him join our family.

We also lost our sweet 9-yr old Nala to cancer as well in August 2023. This was a big one for the kids, especially. Chica’s passing didn’t hit them as hard because she was my dog. But, Nala? Oh man…she was the family dog. The day we put her down was the hardest thing in the world. But she truly did hold back her tears and fight the pain for as long as possible…and honestly, if we would have let her, she would have kept going. She was the most loyal dog in the world. But, as dog owners, it was our responsibility to make sure she didn’t suffer so as much as we knew we’d miss her, we knew it was time.

The house felt really empty without another large dog, sooo…in December 2023, right before Christmas, we welcomed our sweet Lilo – a new German Shepherd puppy from a rescue! She’s only 14 weeks at the time of this post, so we are currently thuggin’ thru the puppy stage, but I can already tell she just wants to be with the family. She absolutely hates her kennel, but the minute you let her out, she literally just wants to chill with us in the living room. I can already tell she’s a great addition to our Y Tribe!

RJ received a promotion recently at his job so that’s great!!

As for me…remember how I mentioned I would be doing more “spiritual stuff”? Yeah – that’s been pretty crazy too. Since I last mentioned it in 2021, I have now become a Reiki Master, received my certification as a Spiritual Life Coach and I consider myself an Intuitive Medium, as I am now able to connect with loved ones from the other side, and read Tarot/Oracle Cards. It’s so crazy what direction life takes you in, but I have learned that trusting the Universe will always align you with your path and put you right where you need to be. If you’d like to read more or follow my spiritual journey, you can do so at sageandlotushealing.com.

Ok that’s about it for now because I have to wake the kids up for school. Happy to have you here once again! 🫶🏼
